A post published on Google through Placeloop may occasionally fail. This article helps you identify the cause of the failure so you can correct it and publish again.
If you're experiencing a publication failure on Facebook or Instagram, we invite you to consult this article.
How to identify your failed posts?
There are two ways:
- Check your emails: Placeloop automatically notifies you by email each time a scheduled post is published, as well as when a post fails. If you don’t receive these emails, make sure to check your spam or junk folders.
- From the Placeloop platform: log in to your Placeloop dashboard, then go to the Publications section and click on Errors.
Understanding the causes of Google post failures
A Google Post may fail to publish on your business listing (formerly "Google My Business") for various reasons, either from Google's side or through a third-party tool like Placeloop. Below are the most frequent causes:
- Check that your business listing is verified
- It is not possible to publish a Google Post on a listing that has not been verified.
Check the status of your listing here, and if needed proceed to verify your listing with Google.
- The image selected does not comply with Google’s rules:
- Inappropriate content,
- Image overly edited: use of artificial intelligence*, blurred, excessive filters making the image unreadable,
- Image already used in a previous Google Post,
- Image is too small (Google only accepts images of at least 250 pixels)
- The description contains elements that are rejected by Google:
- Phone number or email address
- Excessive use of emojis
- Too many spelling mistakes (you can use our AI* to correct your texts!)
- Your business listing has been sanctioned or partially suspended by Google
- Suspicious activity or inappropriate content was detected by Google, leading to a temporary suspension of your posts. Check your Google dashboard for any alerts or error messages.
If none of the above causes apply, try this test:
- Try posting something very simple: from your Google Business Profile, click on "View profile" to access your business listing management page.
- Click on “Add update” to create a new post.
- If it still doesn’t work, take note of the error message displayed.
